    Autism Dad and the founder of Autism Epicenter. His son was born in 2002 and diagnosed in 2004 with classic autism.

    - Sherri
    Mother of "Sir Dantes". He was born in 2007 and diagnosed in 2009. "Ms. Maxie" is her typical daughter (doesn't have autism). Sherri works full time and blogs because she finds it to be therapeutic.

iPad Speech App Giveaway - Word SLapPs

Courtesy of the developers I have 2 redeem codes for free copies of Word SLapPs. These codes are not for the 'Lite' version but for the full version of the app.

I'm getting ready to review Word SLapPs, but haven't done it yet. Here's a little info about the app in the words of the developer - "Word SlapPs is used to teach vocabulary words specific to your child’s world with images that you choose. Upload and save your images into customizable categories and pair them with your own recorded questions." Go directly to Word SLapPs on iTunes for more info.

This application looks like it too would be great for my son. We have pictures of all his friends at school and teachers and his parents etc and we could use this application matching the word/name to the picture. Think of my lil man Aidan James!

As an SLP w/ an ipad this would be a great and motivating app to teach both students new vocabulary and concept skills.

I'm a speech therapist working in a school in the Seattle area with children in self-contained classrooms. I'm getting an iPod touch this month,and am looking for apps to put on it which would be helpful for my students. Schools have a limited budget, so I'm trying to do it as economically as possible. I work with a casseload of 60 students per week.

This sounds wonderful. I work with school age children with moderate-severe special needs and adding functional vocabulary to their programs in a motivating way will be great.
