good evening everyone!
i did not plan on posting tonight because it has just been a long couple of weeks. but, i decided that i just wanted to share a little information with parents who have an autistic child. i am hoping that this will help cease, or at least decrease, some of the frustration in your life.

good evening everyone! as always, i would like to thank all of you who read our blogs. i have received some really nice comments and i am glad that this site has been useful to so many people. again, thank you very much.
our little sir dantes is now three and a half years old. he is sooo cute and he is a bright little boy. he doesn't seem to miss a thing. he is still screaming...sigh...but his father brought up an interesting fact about that this evening. when he is screaming we know where he is and what he is up to. it is when he is quiet that we have to worry.
The Struggles of Summer
By Shane on Aug 11, 2010 | In Announcements | 2 feedbacks »
Dealing with an autistic child during the summer months is always a challenge. No school. No structure. No routine. Yes, there is a local program that helps, but summer is still, by far, the toughest time of year for our son and for us as we struggle to maintain some sort of structure and routine in his daily life. And kids with autism love structure and routine. They love predictability. And we hate summer.
the new stemming!

hello. i hope everyone is having a good night. i feel as though i about to lose my mind!!! do you want to know why? well, i am going to tell ya'.
if you have an autistic child, then you probably already know what stemming is. if you don't, or are wondering if you do have an autistic child; stemming is a repeated action the child does to help them cope with the environment they happen to be in.
